Possible uses of Action Research by educational leaders

One of the items we studied in our first course is how campus leaders were continuously dealing with communication issues.  Blogging could offer a solution to communication issues, not only on a school-parent level, but also between administration and staff, students and teachers and between various administrators at different campuses throughout the district.  It can be set up to limited audiences, as sources of one-way information or as collaborative sites.  As a future administrator, I look forward to experimenting with the various ways blogging can be used in education.

  1. I feel the same way. Some administrators I know hate e-mail because they feel it's so impersonal, but there are some bloggers out there that I feel make a real connection with their followers. I see a real opportunity for administrators here to find more ways to make new connections-- ones that are meaningful.

  2. Blogging was not anything that I would have ever thought about doing but after this week’s assignment, I feel like it could be a positive thing. Bogging is a lot like Twitter. After I get really good at blogging I am going to try using it rather than sending out a weekly homework page. It will help safe trees and ink!

  3. It's kind of funny, you know? This blog thing could essentially turn into its own website. I mean, when you start playing in here, you can have multiple pages, post video, photos, links to other pages and sites...the list goes on. We could be using this to share lessons among teachers in the same subject/grade. We could be using this to let Mom & Dad what's going on in the classroom and when the next dance or test or popcorn sale or volleyball match is going to be. We could be asking our kids to log into the blog once or twice or three times a six weeks and submit a reflection (comment) in response to a prompt (post) that we leave out here.

I think it's kind of silly that it took a Masters course to get us all hip. Yeah?
